While the discombobulated VCU Rams were losing two basketball games last week, the improving Richmond Spiders were winning both of their outings. The University of Richmond used an inspired rebounding effort to beat archrival VCU 66-52 in a women’s basketball game. The Spiders (7-2) outrebounded the Rams (3-2) 52-35. Reserve forward Nikita Thomas led the rebounding efforts with 12. Starting wing guard Brittani Shells had 11 rebounds and starting post player Katie Holzer 10.
